Why I photograph

Photography to me is the discipline of capturing images, being sensitive to light illuminating objects and scenes, seeing shapes and textures, playing with the programs of the camera e.g. shutter speeds, aperture settings and special features like multiple exposures. Another reason to photograph is to become aware of and to think about what’s being photographed, why this object, why this scene, what purpose will this photograph contribute to. All of this adds to the focus and intentions of seeing, which consistently informs me of the environment I live in along with  the photographs & art I see in general.
