From 1980-1991 Mr. Ripling worked as a photographer for many leading artists and Art institutions including Claus Oldenburg and Dennis Oppenheim, the Neuberger Museum in Purchase, NY, Corporate collections including McCrory and Chase and several New York City galleries including Pace, Marlborough, Leonard Hutton, & Marion Goodman.

​​From 1990-2002 operated a vibrant commercial studio in New York City, working in the Editorial, Advertising and Design Communities. The commercial photographs created have received numerous awards and garnered a reputation for their innovative styles.  ​A partial client list includes The New York Times Magazine, Newsweek, Business Week, Reader’s Digest, and Fitness Magazine.  Advertising includes McCann-Ericson, J.W.Thompson, and FCB(Chicago) among others. Corporate clients include Smith Barney, Estee Lauder’s Origins Natural Resources and Chanel. 

Currently Ripling is pursuing photography as an art form, exploring various technical and conceptual ideas. Projects revolve around photography techniques and the conceptual context produced.
